Eric Blumer photoThe Badger Kart Club became a traveling circus for race 13 of their Bridgestone Championship Series, as the club visited the Briggs and Stratton Motorplex at Road America. After an active practice day on Saturday, Sunday was left to the normal race-day format.

In Briggs Senior Animal action Ryan Hoke kept hot pursuit on Ryan Vehring for the entire event, only to fall short by .2 seconds. Even so, Hoke takes a hearty lead into the final three weeks of the season, over Joe Ciszek, in the points race.

Patrick Olson beat a crowd of around 15 karts in all three of his races to sweep the HPV Sr. class. Wesley Steege, the class point leader finished fifth.

Quentin Poupore was pushed by Cole Peterson the entire race, but held on for a flag to flag win in Jr. SSX Can action. In that race, Spencer Clark made a last lap charge to go from fifth to third.

The club, marking it’s 50th Anniversary season, has enjoyed a large count of karts thus far in 2009. On this weekend 162 entrants signed into the pits with especially strong support from the TaG Masters Series and the popular Kid Kart class.

One of the 15 contested classes was the Briggs Animal WKA Limited Mod. class, which was again dominated by Regan Vehring. From his front row start Vehring took off as he was chased by Joe Ciszek and Tom Schroeder. By lap three, Vehring had the field by at least six lengths. The battle then heated up for second as Ryan Vehring started to pressure Ciszek. But the Vehring one/two was not to be as Regan sailed to an easy win for the second week in a row over Ciszek while Ryan V. finished third.
